The late model Rules for the most highly anticipated race of the summer have been released. The 2nd annual Motor Mountain Masters will take place on Saturday August 10th 2019. The Motor Mountain masters will be featuring the 150 lap $6000 to win main event late model race along with modifieds and chargers. Late model drivers from across the country have been waiting patiently for the 2019 rules to be released. Many drivers have already confirmed their 2019 entries included the 2018 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Josh Brock who finished an impressive second place in 2018 in the inaugural event. Jerik Johnson, driver of the #76 POW/MIA tribute car has also confirmed his 2019 entry and hopes to improved on his 2018, 9th place finish. When asked about his 2018 Jennerstown experience Jerik told Rappin on Racing reporter Dave Olivieri, “To be completely honest, this is how racing used to be.” We are excited to not only have these two drivers return but also several new drivers have confirmed their entries.
“The $6,000 to win, $800 to start prize money is a big draw in the crate late model community” said general manager Billy Hribar, “but to make the deal even better for drivers, 2019 will have an added bonus for a segment win”. The driver who is leading at the end of both segments 1 and 2 will each receive a $500 bonus. 2019 will also include the $250 fastest qualifier award and a $250 hard charger award for the driver who finishest highest from their respected starting spot. Also new for 2019 will be a special bonus for the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) drivers. Series director Mike Parks adjusted his schedule to allow any GSPSS drivers who wanted to attend the Motor Mountain Master the opportunity to do so. As a sign of appreciation the speedway will offer a GSPSS bonus to the highest finisher from their series in the 2019 Masters. $100 will be added to the bonus for each GSPSS driver who attends. For example if 4 drivers attend the bonus will be $400 to their highest finisher, if 10 drivers attend the bonus will be $1000 to their highest finisher.
With all the exciting news of drivers from outside the region entering the Masters, you can’t overlook the local late model excitement. To date 17 late model teams have confirmed that they will be participating in the Martella’s Pharmacies late model divisions for the 2019 season. The speedway is super excited to see the growth in its premier division. The combination of the local drivers as well as the traveling teams could possible formulate one of the biggest late model car counts in the past 20 years for the 2019 Motor Mountain Masters.
More excited details for the Masters will be released in the upcoming weeks.
