On Saturday, June 29th, 2019 “TMT Transportation Night at The Races” began with a beautiful rendition of the “National Anthem” by WJAC-TV’s Mary Ours, under sunny skies. But after two earlier delays, and hours of effort by the track crew, a third, unpredicted rain shower prevented feature racing action at the Jennerstown Speedway Complex.
As a “thank you” to all the fans who patiently waited out the delays on Saturday, Jennerstown Speedway management will honor all used and unused general admission tickets dated “June 29, 2019” for admission to this Saturday’s Five Division Racing program on July 5th.
With no indication of precipitation on any of the available weather forecasting tools, Jennerstown Speedway officials decided to dry the racing surface (again), to complete to program of action for the thousands of fans in attendance. After one storm delayed pre-race practice sessions, a more violent downpour soaked the speedway after preliminary heat races. Hours of effort to prepare the track for racing again, then fell victim to a third downpour that failed to be indicated on any radar map.
Since heat races were completed for all five divisions of racing, the feature events will be added to upcoming races – one at a time. The official website of www.jennerstown.org and the Facebook page of Jennerstown Speedway Complex LLC will be updated soon, with the make-up date for each of the five postponed feature races. Martella's Pharmacies Late Models, Stoystown Auto Wreckers Modifieds, Tunstall Auto & Truck Repair Street Stocks, Farmers Union Co-Op Chargers, and Somerset Trust Company Fast 'n Furious 4-Cylinders will all have a chance to compete in the Feature Races from June 29th at later dates, individually. The rain forced the cancellation of Round Two of the 2019 Ron’s Collision Center Enduro Series. Two more events remain on the schedule for the Ron’s Collision Enduro competitors to earn points toward that series Championship.
