The 2018 racing season has been jarred by rain and inclement weather, forcing Jennerstown Speedway Complex to choose “make up dates” for postponed activities, as summer draws to a close. With the most recent cancellation last Saturday, advance tickets dated August 18th will be honored this Saturday, August 25th, and also on September 8th .
As scheduled, this Saturday, August 25th, the Super Cup Stock Car Series will make the second of three stops on the 2018 tour at Jennerstown, during TMT Transportation/Triad Metals Night at the Races. All five divisions of stock cars in the weekly “Motor Mountain Mania” racing program will also compete, yet tickets will remain at regular price; just $10 for adults, with kids age twelve and under, free! Gates open at 4pm, with Super Cup qualifying at 5pm and racing at 6pm.
Saturday, September 1st, will be the rescheduled “Riggs Industries Night,” featuring five division racing at 6pm. After the racing, the “One Stop Auto Sales and Service Enduro” will take place. The event, which is the third Enduro of the year, will be the final round, and determine the Champion of the 2018 Ron’s Collision Center Enduro Series.
September 8th, will be the annual “FREE CDL NIGHT,” presented by FFX Trucking, of Windber, PA. In celebration of National Truck Drivers’ Week, all drivers that show a valid CDL license will be admitted free, with one guest also granted free admission. In addition to five division “Motor Mountain Mania” racing, fans will also get to meet some heroes of yesteryear. The postponed 2018 “Tri-Star Motors Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony” and the “Arsenberger Trucking Legends Salute” have now been added to the agenda for September 8th.
All of these events lead up to the biggest “grand finale” in the modern era of the Jennerstown Speedway. On Saturday September 15th, the nationally touring Xtreme Sprint Car Tour makes its’ first ever visit to the Laurel Highlands. This historic event will bring the open-wheel, winged Sprint Cars back to Jennerstown Speedway. Sprint Cars were the “stars of the show” when the speedway was a dirt track in the 1970’s and 1980’s. The return of these methanol-burning monsters, will likely result in a new track speed record, during this nationally televised event. The Sprints were scheduled for June 23rd, but Mother Nature interfered, and now the “Must See Racing” Sprint Cars are part of the season closing event. Tickets dated June 23rd will be honored on September 15th. Also being filmed for national television on the same night, the Super Cup Stock Car Series will crown the tour’s 2018 Champion. As in previous seasons, the series’ final race of the year will held at Jennerstown Speedway. Additionally, the Championship Chase in all five divisions of weekly racing at Jennerstown will conclude on September 15th, with final points-races for the local competitors. This “Championship Triple-Header” offers something for every fan of motorsports, and advance tickets are just $15, if purchased by September 13th.
The 2018 “Courtesy Passes” will be honored for any event remaining on the schedule, except the September 15th “Special Event.” Fans holding these tickets can redeem them for admission on August 25th, September 1st, or September 8th.
