The Jennerstown Speedway Complex is excited to announce the addition of the Martella's Pharmacies Late Models to the racing card for the July 3rd American Freedom 300 event. Unfortunately the Championship Racing Association sanction has been removed from the event. The CARS Series will remain in place as the sole sanctioning body of the Super Late Model portion of the event. With the loss of the CRA JEGS pro late model division an opportunity presented itself to showcase the Jennerstown Speedway local late model talent. This event will consist of a 100 lap event for the premier division of the Jennerstown Speedway operating under the Jennerstown weekly rules and on the McCreary racing tire. “This is a great opportunity to provide an extended lap event for our weekly drivers on a national stage,” says track general manager Billy Hribar. “As soon as I heard of the scheduling change, I immediately said to Jack, I want my guys racing.” The CARS Tour under the direction of series director Jack McNelly will oversee the entire July 2nd and July 3rd event and the Jennerstown Speedway officials will provide assistance for the Martella’s Pharmacies late model event.
The 100 laps Martella’s Pharmacies event will pay $2,500 to win. The race will be governed by Jennerstown Speedway rules and competitors will be permitted 4 McCreary racing tires. Jennerstown late model drivers will each receive 25 show up points for participating in the event. “We are excited that the CARS tour is letting us be a part of their big weekend, Hribar said. We decided to sweeten the pot for our local drivers by making this July 3rd event part of a triple crown $1,000 bonus. The driver with the highest combined average finish from the June 5th- 75 lapper, July 3rd- 100 lapper and August 7th -150 lap Motor Mountain Masters will receive the $1,000 bonus. A driver must compete in all three events to be eligible.”
Additional information will be provided in the upcoming weeks and tickets are expected to be on sale soon. For rules and other information please stay tuned to Jennerstown.org for details as they are announced.
