For the second straight year, the nationally traveling All-Star Monster Truck Tour made a mid-summer stop at the Jennerstown Speedway Complex, thanks to title sponsor Tri-Star Motors. Giving the stock car racers a Saturday night off, six monster trucks battled for supremacy in three different competitions on July 25th, 2020. The action followed a Pit Party, free of charge to all in attendance, during which fans had a chance to meet the drivers and touch the enormous trucks. Many youngsters enjoyed repeated photo opportunities with the giant tires that elevate the trucks several feet off the ground.
Two of the most recognized names in the world of Monster Trucks were victorious in the first two competitions. "Quad Chaos" earned the most points of any truck in the tricks contest, while "Samson" won the truck racing elimination rounds. But, the crowd favorite Freestyle Competition was won by the truck known as Stinger Unleashed. Zane Rettew, of Camden, Delaware is the driver of Stinger Unleashed, and a nine year veteran of Monster Truck competition. He is also a native of Pennsylvania.
Next Saturday, August 1st, the stars of "5 Division Racing" return to attack the half-mile oval track, with opening ceremonies just before 6pm. In addition to high speed thrills on track, a fireworks display will light up the skies over Jennerstown, immediately following the races. Also, the 2020 Jennerstown Hall of Fame Ceremony will enshrine six new members during intermission. For more information visit www.jennerstown.org.
